Relaxation and exclusivity in the hills of the Via Francigena

Looking at grainy photos of it from the 1980s, one can hardly recognize it. Yet Villa La Fonte was born from here, from a dream or rather a vision: to transform an old Tuscan farmhouse into an exclusive charming residence.

The Barsottini family, builders for generations, was responsible for its restoration, and Patrizia, the deity of the house is its heir: same passion for detail, same attention to the genius loci of this private corner of Tuscany.

Entering Villa La Fonte is an exciting journey into the history of the objects that animate it, it is the warmth and magic of details, of an attentive welcome, of relaxed elegance.

Patrizia remembers every flea market and antique dealer where she uncovered that little table or that other display case, that mirror or that collection of porcelain tureens that still speak of great family meals.

Villa La Fonte is home, even when you are away from home, it is a withdrawn idyll where you can spend a vacation with family or friends.

The park that surrounds it gives it the most absolute privacy, yet two minutes away is the Strada Volterrana, where the Via Francigena passes, and in little more than five minutes it is already a village, where you can do your shopping, have a glass of wine in the piazzetta, take a walk in the cool of the evening.

There are those among the guests who leave a dedication and write, “For the third time we are spending the vacations in this ‘our’ beautiful house.” And that’s right, you will immediately feel it as your own, even if only for a few days. We asked Patrizia if she is not at least a little jealous of this creature of hers, maybe she is but she hides it very well. Hospitality is at home here!
