The lesser-known Florence
A specialised guide will accompany you on your discovery of Florence.
The departure is from Piazzale Michelangelo, from where you can admire the most beautiful view of Florence, and from here the walk descends to Ponte Vecchio and the streets of the center.
It will be possible to visit the Piazza Duomo complex, with Giotto’s Bell Tower, the wonderful Baptistery with its Gate of Paradise, and the Cathedral with its majestic dome designed by Filippo Brunelleschi.
The tour continues with a visit to the Church of the Holy Trinity, a little-known destination, but where you can admire the frescoes of the Sassetti Chapel, one of the masterpieces of Domenico Ghirlandaio, Michelangelo’s master.
And speaking of frescoes, you will learn about their technique and discover some interesting details: why were the best Renaissance artists obsessed with them?
This and other questions will be answered during the tour, between one masterpiece and another of the figurative arts of the Florentine Renaissance.
