La Taverna is a farm that overlooks the hills of Volterra. Maria Elena takes care of it with a passion she inherited from her parents, from her shepherd father who, like many other Sardinians, came to Tuscany in the 1960s and 1970s.

Today he produces grains, craft beer, herbs and saffron. He opens his farm to those who want to discover the cultivation of this precious spice, but also to those who prefer to go truffle hunting with an experienced quarryman.

How does it work the summer truffle hunting?

Maria Elena will be waiting for you at the end of the walk with a truffle lunch, directly on the farm outside under the gazebo. You will enjoy a menu with starter, first and second course and drinks included. For example, starter with bruschette with the farm’s own pesto and crostini with truffle cream, truffle pasta, followed by eggs from their own hens with truffle shavings and cheese. The menu is indicative and may vary.
