Going for summer truffles

La Taverna is a farm that overlooks the hills of Volterra. Maria Elena takes care of it with a passion she inherited from her parents, from her shepherd father who, like many other Sardinians, came to Tuscany in the 1960s and 1970s.

Today he produces grains, craft beer, herbs and saffron. He opens his farm to those who want to discover the cultivation of this precious spice, but also to those who prefer to go truffle hunting with an experienced quarryman.

Maria Elena will be waiting for you at the end of the walk with a tasting on the farmyard and a taste overview of her products.

The activity is suitable for over 65s and children of all ages as long as parents have appropriate tools for transportation (stroller).

It is recommended to have sportswear, comfortable shoes suitable for walking.

The activity is not accessible to clients with disabilities. In light rain, the experience is conducted regularly with the use of an umbrella or raincoat; in case of heavy rain or thunderstorm, the visit must be postponed.
